As a native Detroiter, Careem started playing classical piano at the age of 5.  He then went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Theory Composition from Olivet College. He
is presently teaching music in the Detroit Public School System and completed his Masters Degree in Education Administration at Wayne State University.
